Self-care is something we all need at least once a month. One weekend a month, you dedicate a weekend to doing the things you want to do that are not stressful on the mind. Self-care is something that should relax you physically and mentally so if you are planning a full weekend doing activities, you are not relaxing. That is why you need to find ways you can relax with certain activities or simply do nothing.

First, think of why you are relaxing, this could be because you have had a busy week, you wish to save money or you need to rest your mind before the next week ahead. Maybe you want to find yourself again, have a reset or reduce your screen time. Whatever it is, understand why you are doing this and then you can plan your self-care goals for the weekend ahead. 

Pick The Perfect Weekend

Picking the right weekend is required to have a good self-care weekend. Sometimes, you may have an appointment for your hair or even the dentist at the weekend. Maybe you have an upcoming work deadline that you need to meet so therefore, you need to work over the weekend. Just ensure there is nothing that needs to be done that weekend or the following week so you can relax your mind. 

If you have a deadline coming up, whether that is school work or just a work deadline in general, we advise you to have your self-care weekend afterwards as you are treating your mind with a reward.

We all have different ways of relaxing so finding something that helps you relax is essential. Only you will really know how to relax as well. This is a great time to shut off and ignore the rest of the world for the weekend. It might not even be a series. It could also be a film or multiple films. No matter what it is, you should take your time. 

Have a Relaxing Bath

A relaxing bath is another great way to help you relax. Buy yourself some candles as well to put around your bath. Use a nice relaxing bubble bath along with a face mask and then put on some facial cream once you have finished. Make sure your water is hot to completely relax those muscles. 

Have a Spa Day

The other thing you can do is a spa day and that could be perfect for just yourself or a friend. Spas tend to be expensive; however, you can choose a spa that is less expensive and just use their swimming pool and sauna. No matter what you choose, this is a great way to relax your body and mind.  

Enjoy A Shopping Trip

Some people like to relax by enjoying a shopping trip and this is a great way to relax, especially if you haven’t had the time to go shopping in a while. If you have spare money left, consider heading to a restaurant afterwards. Many shopping centres have restaurants and other fun activities so ensure you go to a shopping centre that has other things to do.
